Dirty Dog Tails shampoo bar has been something that I have wanted to make for a while. There is controversy in the soap making community about whether or not a shampoo bar is good for a dog's coat. I have used this one on my dogs and have to say it is a very nice bar. It is considered a syndet bar like the one I make for human hair. A dog's skin ph is typically 6.2 - 7.5 which is neutral to slightly alkaline.
Our handcrafted dog shampoo bar harnesses the natural goodness of neem oil, a plant-derived ingredient traditionally used to support healthy skin and coat. It has a natural repellant for fleas, ticks, and mites. While neem oil can be supportive for skin and coat health, it's not a miracle cure. If your dog has persistent itching, redness or irritation, it's best to consult your veterinarian - neem-infused shampoo can be part of a routine grooming regimen but it should not replace professional diagnosis or treatment. **This shampoo bar is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any condition. As said above consult your veterinarian if those issues continue.
Ingredients: sodium cocyl isethionate, sodium cocyl laurate, shea butter (vitellaria paradoxa), neem oil (azadirachta indica seed oil), stearic alcohol, cetyl alcohol, btms-25, and dl panthenol, colloidal oatmeal, and optiphen plus.
