About Me — The Maker Behind Mermaizing Scents

I’m the maker and creator behind Mermaizing Scents, a small-batch, handcrafted business born from my love of nature, creativity, and a desire to live a more intentional life.

I am from the Stockbridge-Munsee Band of Mohicans, with family ties to the Mohican people of Wisconsin. My connection to our history, our people, and the natural world is an important part of who I am. For me, creating with my hands is more than simply making beautiful things—it is a way of honoring a slower, more thoughtful way of life and staying connected to the world around me.

I share this life with my husband, Jason, an incredible man whose roots are deeply connected to this area. Jason is a canoe maker, fisherman, hunter, and craftsman. He has a deep respect for the outdoors and for the skills and traditions that allow us to live close to the land. He is one of those rare people who can make just about anything with his hands, and I’m incredibly grateful to share this life with him.

Our life is also beautifully woven together through our combined family—his children and mine. We have been blessed to watch our family grow and change, and some of our greatest joys now come from our grandchildren. They bring an entirely different kind of joy into our lives and remind us why family, tradition, stories, and the things we pass down are so important.

Together, we have chosen a life that keeps us close to the land. We live and work from our farm, growing, making, creating, and learning along the way. We try to live as naturally and intentionally as possible, finding beauty in simple things and valuing the work of our own hands.

Our home is more than just a place where we live. It is a place where we work, create, gather, and reconnect—a place where we try to walk gently upon the earth and live in a way that feels spiritually grounded.

That spirit is woven into everything I create.

Every bar of soap, body product, and little creation that leaves my hands carries a piece of the life we have chosen: handmade, intentional, connected to nature, and made with heart.

I’m so happy you’ve found your way here, and I hope that when you use something I’ve made, you can feel a little bit of the love, creativity, and connection to nature that went into making it.
